Outside Cabins open onto the outside deck and have picture windows. Each cabin has a private ensuite, air-conditioning, electric blankets, soaps, shampoo and towels and are serviced daily. Each cabin is approximately 12 sq metres. Most rooms have twin beds. A $60 per cabin per night surcharge applies for cabins with a double bed, subject to availability. Single/Sole Occupancy cabins may be smaller than standard twin rooms.
DAY 1 Thursday 8 May 2025
Adelaide/Mannum
Today group members arrive in Adelaide (own arrangements – please
arrive by midday) and we transfer to Mannum. We will have time for a
stop in the quaint town of Hahndorf – “Australia’s Oldest German Town”,
settled in 1839 by Lutherans fleeing religious persecution in Prussia.
Hahndorf was named after the ship’s captain Hahn, whilst dorf is German
for village. We continue onto Mannum arriving late afternoon. Please ask
about airfares for flights to join the tour.
DAY 2 Friday 9 May 2025
Embarkation/Caurnamont
This morning there will be free time to explore historic Mannum, birth
place of Murray River trade. Mid-afternoon the Murray Princess departs
Mannum and heads downriver while you enjoy a Welcome Dinner. As
we cruise under floodlight to our overnight mooring at Caurnamont,
you may see nocturnal wildlife on the riverbank. Watch for kangaroos,
hairy-nosed wombats, tortoises, egrets and many other species. Our on
board entertainer provides music for the night owls.
DAY 3 Saturday 10 May 2025
Sugar Shack
Daybreak and it’s time for the keen photographers to be out to capture
the special light and the morning movement of wildlife This morning,
your discovery vessel awaits for a wildlife tour. Travelling in small,
personalised groups, we explore the maze of the river, and the birdlife is
amazing. Watch for darters, herons and egrets feeding along the river’s
muddy edges. For those who choose to stay on-board, you may wish to
partake in a game of bocce or compete in the fishing challenge before
we cruise upriver past Walker Flat to Sugar Shack Conservation Park. In
the afternoon, join us in the Sturt Dining Room for a special presentation
on the bounty of food and wine produced in the Riverland. After dinner,
enjoy being entertained by our on-board entertainer.
DAY 4 Sunday 11 May 2025
Morgan
Continue cruising upriver this morning as we enjoy breakfast and pass
through one of 13 locks which maintain the flow and levels of the river’s
water. This morning, enjoy some free time and in the afternoon join in
the fun playing a few games of bingo. Late afternoon we will secure
the vessel at Morgan and after dinner, enjoy being entertained by our
talented crew.
DAY 5 Monday 12 May 2025 Murray River
Today we are transferred by coach to the Riverland town of Waikerie
and Banrock Station Wine and Wetland Centre near Kingston On Murray.
Enjoy some free time in Waikerie and at Banrock Station delight in cellar
door wine tastings followed by a delicious lunch and DVD presentation.
There will be time to take a stroll around the gardens and orchards
enjoying the relaxing scenery. Return by coach to Morgan where we
will re-board the Murray Princess and continue our journey upriver and
secure at the 329km mark of the Murray River.
DAY 6 Tuesday 13 May 2025
Donald Flat Lagoon
After breakfast, we continue upriver to our turnaround point, pictur
esque Hogwash Bend. Enjoy a leisurely lunch as we cruise downriver
back towards Morgan. Mid-afternoon we join a guided walk of the
Morgan township and the Morgan Living History Museum. We depart
Morgan late afternoon and secure at Donald Flat Lagoon for our
overnight moorage. After dinner, join us for all the fun and excitement,
and participate in our “Murray River Cup”.
DAY 7 Wednesday 14 May 2025
Sunnydale
After breakfast cruise to picturesque Swan Reach. The town was first
settled in the 1850s and was originally the largest of five sheep and cattle
stations in the area and is now home to native flower and fruit growers.
The original Swan Reach homestead is now the Swan Reach Hotel
where you can enjoy an ale or cappuccino overlooking the Murray River
(additional cost). Join a walking tour and visit the Swan Reach Museum
(gold coin donation at entry). Cruise downriver after lunch and take in
the tranquillity as the landscape slides by. Catch up with friends over a
coffee or drink whilst enjoying the magnificent scenery. When we arrive
at Sunnydale, it’s all ashore for the Woolshed Show as we recreate typical
Australian woolshed history. Later we visit the Native Wildlife Shelter
where some of South Australia’s most interesting native animals are
cared for. And then of course, there is the great Aussie Barbecue – cooked
and served in a bush setting on the banks of the mighty Murray River.
DAY 8 Thursday 15 May 2025
Younghusband
After an optional early morning Bush Tucker Breakfast (Additional charge)
or bush walk with the Captain, the vessel cruises slowly downriver past
magnificent cliffs scoured by the river over millions of years. We reach
Ngaut Ngaut Aboriginal Reserve, one of Australia’s most significant
archaeological sites, for a step back in time – tens of thousands of years – for a guided boardwalk tour to view ancient rock carvings and to learn
about Aboriginal history in the area. We return to the vessel to cruise
downriver to Younghusband. Along the way, adventure seekers can
also take a scenic tender boat ride. Tonight, join your fellow guests for a
delicious final night dinner and enjoy the evening entertainment.
DAY 9 Friday 16 May 2025
Disembarkation/Victor Harbor
We leave Younghusband and head back to Mannum. After breakfast
we reluctantly say farewell to the PS Murray Princess as we arrive at the
Mannum Wharf. We board our coach to transfer to Victor Harbor. Along
the way we will stop in Murray Bridge. We will visit the Roundhouse
before time for lunch. Built for Henry Parker, the superintendent over
seeing the construction of the first bridge to span the Murray River,
the Round House has also served as the town’s first school, post office,
church and council chambers. We continue onto Victor Harbor.
DAY 10 Saturday 17 May 2025
Victor Harbor
This morning join the Cockle Train as it travels along the oldest steel
railed railway in Australia dating back to 1887 when it was constructed to
provide a link between the River Murray and the ocean wharfs at Pt Elliot
and later at Victor Harbor. In early days of settlement the local residents
would take a horse drawn train to Goolwa to collect cockles from the
sandy beaches near the Murray mouth. It was a great day’s outing and
thus gained its name. Between Port Elliott and Victor Harbor the train
climbs to the top of the coastal cliffs and passengers then experience
some of the most picturesque coastal scenery on the Fleurieu Peninsula,
with nothing separating you from the beach below and a perfect view
of the Southern Ocean – in winter the home of Southern Right Whales.
DAY 11 Sunday 18 May 2025
Kangaroo Island
This morning we travel to Cape Jervis to catch the ferry to Kangaroo
Island. Kangaroo Island is a South Australian icon and one of the world’s
finest nature destinations, with breathtaking landscapes, fascinating
wildlife and a renowned food and wine industry. This afternoon we will
have a gourmet tour of the island visiting some of the wine and gourmet
food producers that Kangaroo Island is famous for.
DAY 12 Monday 19 May 2025
Kangaroo Island
This morning we visit the westernmost part of the Island, Flinders Chase
National Park, one of Australia’s largest and earliest conservation parks.
We travel through the park and enjoy breathtaking views of its unique
trees, plants and coastal scenery. We will see the rock formations known
as The Remarkables and Admirals Arch as we continue around the rugged
southern coastline. In the afternoon we continue to the southern coast
of the island, where we will have a tour of Seal Bay, viewing the sea lion
colony and learning about their habitats before returning to Kingscote
early evening.
DAY 13 Tuesday 20 May 2025
Adelaide
This morning we depart Kangaroo Island and travel to Adelaide. Upon
arrival we enjoy a sightseeing tour of Adelaide the “City of Churches”, so
called due to its 529 exquisite, architecturally designed churches, with
the Holy Trinity Anglican Church being the oldest, dating from 1838. We
will see the art gallery, museum, state library, university and the Adelaide
Botanic Garden. This evening we enjoy an included Farewell dinner.
DAY 14 Wednesday 21 May 2025
Departure
This morning after breakfast, we are transferred to Adelaide Airport for
flights back home.

Touring can involve a considerable amount of walking and stair climbing in the places visited and it is important that all tour participants have a level of physical fitness that allows them to take part in this activity without the need of assistance from others.
TOUR OPERATOR:

TOUR COSTS:
The tour costs are based on general transport, entry, and accommo dation costs. Travelrite reserves the right to alter the costs if any of these factors change, giving any passenger that has booked the right to withdraw with full refund of monies paid or modify arrangements. No alterations to price will be made within 90 days of departure from Australia.
DEPOSIT AND PAYMENT:
A non-refundable deposit of $900 per passenger
for is required at the time of booking. Full payment will be required 90 days
before departure for the Murray River Cruise tour. Cancellation over 90 days
before the tour departs results in the loss of deposit. Cancellation under 90
days before tour departs will result in a loss of all monies paid. Payment may
be made by cheque or cash a 1.5% administration fee will be charged on
payments made by credit cards.
TRAVEL INSURANCE:
Travel insurance is recommended to cover the costs of
cancellation fees due to illness, death in family, etc.
MINIMUM TOUR NUMBERS AND CONDITIONS:
The tour has been priced
on the basis of a minimum number of passengers having booked 90 days
prior to departure. Travelrite reserves the right to cancel the tour, giving a full
refund of all monies paid or offer arrangements to proceed with the tour at a
modified cost.
TOUR ORGANISATION:
Travelrite reserves the right to change advertised
entrances if necessary for the smooth operation of the tour.
REFUNDS:
The tour is based on arrangements that do not allow for any refunds
in respect to sightseeing, accommodation, meals, airfare or other services not
utilized after the tour has commenced.
BAGGAGE:
Due to coach restrictions, tour members can only bring one large
suitcase.
TOUR PARTICIPATION:
Children under 5 years of age are ineligible on coach & cruise tours. Children under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. Passengers with disabilities are welcome on Travelrite & Cruise Offers tours provided they are accompanied by a companion capable of providing all necessary assistance, and do not require special assistance from Travelrite & Cruise Offers personnel. Travelrite and Cruise Offers reserves the right to refuse to carry anyone if it is felt the individual cannot cope with the requirements of coach & cruise tour travel and who may require services and facilities that Travelrite & Cruise Offers cannot guarantee will be available. You agree to not hold the Travelrite & Cruise Offers responsible for any decision made by any of them or any service provider to refuse to carry you, provide any facilities or accommodation to you or to provide any service to you.
RESPONSIBILITY:

tour organizer. Travelrite acts only as an agent in the making of arrangements
for hotels, transportation, restaurants or any other service and does not
assume any liability whatsoever for any injury, damage, death, loss, accident
or delay to person or property due to an act of negligence or a default of any
hotel, carrier restaurant company or person rendering any services included
in the tour, or by act of God. Further no responsibilities are accepted for any
damage or delay due to sickness, pilferage, labour disputes, machinery
break-down, quarantine, government restraints, weather, terrorism or other
causes beyond their control. No responsibility is accepted for any additional
expense, omission, delays, re-routing or acts of any government authority.
The passage contract between the carriers concerned, when issued, shall
constitute the sole contract between the carriers and the purchasers of this
tour and/or the passengers. The right is reserved to withdraw any tour and/or
make such changes in the tour as may be found desirable or necessary for the
convenience of the parties and the proper carrying out of the tour. This contract
shall be construed in accordance of the laws of the State of Victoria, Australia
and any legal action must be undertaken in the State of Victoria. Attention is
also directed to the terms and conditions of the cruise passage contract with
Murray Princess, detailed on their website.
DELAYS AND UNFORESEEN EVENTS:
You engage Travelrite International
to book this tour on your behalf and you acknowledge that Travelrite Inter
national acts as your agent for the purpose of making contracts between
you and the various providers of accommodation, transportation and other
services that comprise the tour. Travelrite International may without reference
to you provide or make available to you, or may as your agent engage any third
party to provide or make available to you, any good or service which Travelrite
International reasonably believes is necessary for your benefit to maintain the
tour itinerary, repatriate you or otherwise accommodate, transport or sustain
you in circumstances in which the tour itinerary fails wholly or partly for any
reason. You appoint Travelrite International your attorney for this purpose. You agree to pay Travelrite International any cost thereof and you indemnify
Travelrite International in respect of any cost it incurs in this regard. Travelrite
advises you to obtain travel insurance generally including in respect of the risk
that any such good or service may become required.
