In Lithgow, you'll ride on the 19th century historic Zig Zag Railway, venture down to Katoomba to see the famous Three Sisters and tour Scenic World, home to the world's steepest railway, plus the Scenic Skyway and Cableway. Have High Tea at the Hydro Majestic Hotel, ride heritage train to Kandos and spend the full day at the Hunter Valley Steamfest to see and ride on their spectacular collection of steam trains. Finish by enjoying a wine tour and lunch in the Hunter Valley before returning to Sydney.

Arrive in Sydney and enjoy a welcome dinner with your tour leader and group. Sydney, spectacularly draped around its glorious harbor and beaches, has visual wow factor like few other cities. DAY 2 Friday 10 April 2026 Bowral
This morning, you'll take a local train to the picturesque Southern Highlands town of Bowral where the famous Sir Donald Bradman grew up. On arrival, enjoy free time at lunch and tour the Bradman Museum and International Cricket Hall of Fame Museum, the gardens and heritage home at the 1821 built Retford Park, the delightful town centre and the world-renowned Fairground Follies a Mechanical Music Museum and a treasure trove of nostalgic delights. DAY 3 Saturday 11 April 2026 Kiama
This morning, you'll visit the NSW Rail Museum in Thirlmere to explore Australia's largest collection of heritage rolling stock including the stunning Governor General's Carriage and the Rail Pay Bus. Enjoy a ride on a vintage heritage steam locomotive from historic Thirlmere Station to Buxton and back to Thirlmere. Check into your hotel, tour the town and see the famous Kiama Blowhole. DAY 4 Sunday 12 April 2026 Kiama
This morning, you'll tour the Light Railway Museum at Albion Park and enjoy a ride on a steam train before taking a ride on the famous Cockatoo Run, a vintage train operated by East Coast Heritage Rail from Wollongong via the beautiful Southern Highlands to Moss Vale (subject to track work). Enjoy reliving the railway experience of years gone by in the beautifully restored luxury of the heritage Lounge Class. DAY 5 Monday 13 April 2026 Goulburn Junee
Today you will drive to the Goulburn Rail Heritage Centre and former railway workshops. Tour the museum, the roundhouse and turntable, ancillary buildings and see the restoration of heritage rolling stock. Enjoy free time at lunch and tour the Junee Roundhouse Railway Museum. DAY 6 Tuesday 14 April 2026 Junee - Cowra - Bathurst
This morning, explore Junee, a pretty country town and a major stop on the Melbourne-Sydney railway line. See the delectable Licorice and Chocolate Factory, the Ray Warren statue and stop for morning tea at the old Railway Refreshment Rooms at Junee station. You'll pause at the heritage-listed, 1940s Bethungra Rail Spiral, one of Australia's most significant rail engineering feats of its time and tour the Cowra Heritage Rail Depot to wander through an extraordinary collection of historic engines, carriages and wagons. This morning, we'll wander the heart of Bathurst to see some historic sights before exploring the Bathurst Railway Museum where you'll enjoy morning tea. Later, see the finest and rarest mineral crystals and fossils from around the world at the Australian Fossils and Minerals Museum and enjoy free time for lunch. In the mid-afternoon, you'll tour the 19th century granite and sandstone building of Abercrombie House. Today you will soak up the sights, smells and scenery of the Blue Mountains on a 19th century historic rail adventure on the Zig Zag Railway. This morning, you'll experience a nostalgic heritage rail journey from Lithgow to Kandos on a privately chartered rail carriage. These 620/720 class railcars are a class of diesel-hydraulic multiple units (DHMU) and operated from 1961 until 2007. Travel through the breathtaking Capertee Valley and enjoy a scenic ride through the World Heritage-listed Blue Mountains, crossing the Great Dividing Range to Kandos, where you'll have lunch on their Railway Station platform. The entire day today is devoted to the Hunter Valley Steamfest - a celebration of steam power, history, and fun! The heart and soul of Steamfest is its spectacular collection of steam trains. DAY 12 Monday 20 April 2026 Hunter Valley Wineries - Sydney
This morning, you'll tour the scenic Hunter Valley around Pokolbin and enjoy lunch at the Audrey Wilkinson Winery. If there was an award for the most picturesque winery in the Hunter, Audrey Wilkinson would win it hands down. Best of all, the wines inside the country-house tasting room stand tall as well. Soak in the breathtaking views of the Brokenback Mountain Ranges as you sip stand outs such as semillon, chardonnay and shiraz over lunch. Tour Costs:
The tours costs are based on transport, accommodation costs and entrance costs at 20 June 2025. Travelrite reserves the right to alter the costs if any of these factors change, giving any passenger that has booked the right to withdraw with full refund of monies paid or modify arrangements. No alterations to costings will be made within 60 days of departure.
Deposit and Payment:
A non-refundable deposit of $900 per passenger is required at the time of booking. Full payment will be required 60 days before departure. A 1.5% administration charge will be added to payment by Visa, Mastercard and America Express.
Cancellations:
Cancellations within 60 days prior to departure will result in the loss of all monies paid. Cancellations outside of 60 days prior to departure will result in the loss of the deposit paid per person. Travel insurance is recommended to cover the costs of cancellation fees due to illness, death in family, etc.
Changes To The Tour Itinerary:
Travelrite International reserves the right to make changes to the tour itinerary to fit in with operational requirements. Any changes to the itinerary will be replaced with similar arrangements with an equal or greater value.
Minimum Tour Numbers and Conditions:
The tour has been costed on the basis of a minimum number of passengers having booked 60 days prior to departure. Travelrite reserves the right to cancel the tour, giving a full refund of all monies paid or offer arrangements to proceed with the tour at a modified cost if the minimum number is not achieved.
Refunds:
The tour is based on arrangements which do not allow for any refunds in respect to sightseeing, accommodation, meals or other services not utilised after the tour has commenced.
Baggage:
All passengers qualify for 1 piece free baggage allowance.
Responsibility:
Travelrite International Pty Ltd. is the tour organiser. Travelrite International acts only as agents in making of arrangements with carriers, hoteliers and others for the tour. As a result, we cannot accept liability for any act or omission whatsoever, whether negligent or otherwise of those carriers, hoteliers or other persons providing services in connection with the tour over whom we have no direct or exclusive control. We do not accept responsibility for any injury, damage, loss, delay, change of schedule or any other events which are beyond our direct control, such as, but not limited to, war, flood, fire, civil disturbance, acts of God, acts of government, or any other authorities, terrorism, accidents to or failure of machinery or equipment, or industrial action. The passage contract in use by the carriers concerned, when issued, shall constitute the sole contract between the transportation companies or firms and the purchasers of these tours and the passengers. Baggage is at own risk throughout the tour. The contract shall be construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Victoria and any legal action must be undertaken in the State of Victoria.
DELAYS AND UNFORESEEN EVENTS:
You engage Travelrite International to book this tour on your behalf and you acknowledge that Travelrite International acts as your agent for the purpose of making contracts between you and the various providers of accommodation, transportation and other services that comprise the tour. Travelrite International may without reference to you provide or make available to you, or may as your agent engage any third party to provide or make available to you, any good or service which Travelrite International reasonably believes is necessary for your benefit to maintain the tour itinerary, repatriate you or otherwise accommodate, transport or sustain you in circumstances in which the tour itinerary fails wholly or partly for any reason. You appoint Travelrite International your attorney for this purpose. You agree to pay Travelrite International any cost thereof and you indemnify Travelrite International in respect of any cost it incurs in this regard. Travelrite International advises you to obtain travel insurance generally including in respect of the risk that any such good or service may become required.
