Brendan Scott is an accomplished and experienced performer who has been part of the Australian entertainment industry ever since his stage debut at age 4. He has worked in all facets of the entertainment industry and continues to use his wealth of experience to entertain audiences in many parts of Australia. In his performances, Brendan showcases his many talents. Not only does he sing many well-known songs, he also plays piano, guitar, saxophone, banjo, and violin. Add to this Brendan’s flare for audience interaction and participation as well as his ability to have people in stitches with his comedy, and you have a complete entertainment experience.
John was a secondary school music teacher for 24 years (taught Kylie Minogue). He and his twin brother, Graeme, perform as The Howie Brothers.John has been leading successful music tours for 30 years.
Twin brothers John & Graeme Howie make up one of Australia’s leading country music/easy listening acts… The Howie Brothers. John & Graeme have been performing, and recording, for over 45 years and they are known for their distinctive vocal harmony sound. They play a variety of instruments (including piano, guitar, accordion, ukulele and drums) and they are keen songwriters. Originally, as the band 1901, The Howie Brothers won 3 Golden Guitar awards at the Australasian Country Music Awards, in Tamworth, including 2 Group of the Year awards (1980 & 1982).
Dave Prior is an outstanding Country singer, songwriter and comedian, from South Australia. He lives in the Clare Valley region of SA. For many years he worked in the commercial radio industry, as an announcer, program director and station manager. However, a mid-life career change saw him working as a singer/comedian, including touring with Adam Harvey, Doug Walters (cricketer), & Rodney Vincent. Dave has released many CDs, including an outstanding Merle Haggard tribute CD, Silver Wings and Haggard Things. Dave is looking forward to performing for us in Port Lincoln.
Über Oompah is an outstanding German Oktoberfest-style band, from the Adelaide area. Many of Adelaide’s early settlers were from the German region, in Europe, and places like Hahndorf and the Barossa Valley reflect this German heritage, with beautiful Lutheran churches and bands that include accordions and brass instruments. Über Oompah performs sometimes as a 3 or 4 piece band and sometimes just Heidi and Herman (a duo). They will be performing for us as a 3 piece band. They perform regularly in Hahndorf. They describe themselves as ‘a bunch of fun German entertainers’.
Tasmanian country music singer/ songwriter, Debbie Parry, has been performing since the early 1970s, when she won a talent quest on the Buddy Williams Show. Debbie has been a support act for many artists, including Eric Bogle, Buddy Williams, & The Howie Brothers (1901). She has released 38 albums, including some with her daughter, Anita, and son, Luke. Debbie is an outstanding songwriter, having written almost 3,000 songs! One of her songs was recorded by John Denver. Debbie will perform for us with one of her regular music duo partners.
The HOT String Band is a community-based band of up to 20 members, from Hobart. The band’s members enjoy playing traditional music sourced from various genres. The band provides a forum for players of stringed instruments (typically fiddle, mandolin, guitar, banjo, ukulele and bass) to get together, learn and perform. The band’s ‘wall-of-sound’, and many bright tunes, get faces smiling and toes tapping. Their slogan is ‘The Biggest Hillbilly Band this side of Anywhere. The HOT String Band is not able to confirm this performance ‘til May 2025, but hopefully they will be available. So, TBC (to be confirmed).
