Today we board our overnight flights from Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane to New York. We arrive the same day as we depart because we cross the International Date Line. We will be met at the airport by our private coach and transferred to our hotel.
Day 2 Saturday 9 October, 2021 New York, USA
Today we have a sightseeing tour of New York City. We will see the major sites of the city including the Empire State Building, Wall Street, the Rockefeller Centre, Fifth Avenue, Times Square and much more. We will also visit 9/11 Memorial, once the site of the World Trade Centre. The rest of the afternoon is free for sightseeing and shopping. A walk up 5th Avenue is an unforgettable experience, as is walking around Soho, Tribeca, Brooklyn or Central Park. We will enjoy an included welcome dinner this evening.
Day 3 Sunday 10 October, 2021 New York
This morning we travel by boat to the famous Statue of Liberty. A gift from the French to American people in 1886 and engineered by Gustave Eiffel, it has been the symbol of the freedom of the USA to immigrants for over 100 years. We then travel to historic Ellis Island where half the population of the US entered the United States for the first time. We will see the route that new immigrants took through the processing room, medical appraisal room and entry room.
Day 4 Monday 11 October, 2021 New York / Embarkation
This morning will be free for shopping and sightseeing. This afternoon the group will be transferred to the Caribbean Princess. Enjoy the spectacular view of the New York skyline as we depart this wonderful city.
Day 5 Tuesday 12 October, 2021 Newport, Rhode Island
This morning we arrive in to Newport. In the 19th century, Newport was America’s Versailles. It was here that the great merchant princes and rubber barons of the ‘Gilded Age’ erected the elaborate summerhouses they so ingenuously dubbed ‘cottages’. At the height of its splendour, a Newport season was a giddy whirl of grand fêtes, yacht races and elaborate beach picnics for assorted Vanderbilts, Astors and Morgan’s. Today, it is the privileged traveller who marvels at the splendour of great mansions like The Breakers, The Elms, or Rosecliff. This evening we have a welcome drinks party to celebrate the start of our cruise.
Day 6 Wednesday 13 October, 2021 Boston, Massachusetts
This morning we arrive in Boston, known as the cradle of American Independence, and is now New England’s centre for finance and technology. The home of Harvard University, the area is among the most varied and interesting in America. We will have a city tour with a local guide. During the tour we follow some of the Freedom Trail that covers sites associated with the American War of Independence. We will see Bunker Hill, site of the first battle of the war, Paul Revere’s House, Kings Chapel, Boston Harbour, site of the famous Boston tea party and more.
Day 7 Thursday 14 October, 2021 Bar Harbor, Maine
This morning we arrive in Bar Harbor, Maine. A beautiful area where many celebrities have holiday houses. We will explore some of the scenery in the area. We will drive through Acadia National Park, designated one of America’s most scenic byways and admire the spectacular coastal scenery, with stops for photographs. There will also be some short walks to highlights of the rocky coastline – the very essence of Maine. We will pass a number of Victorian mansions that survived the Great Fire of 1947 as we drive along a portion of the Park Loop Road. A very enjoyable and relaxing day.
Day 8 Friday 15 October, 2021 Saint John, New Brunswick,
Saint John, Canada’s oldest settlement, is the gateway to the scenic wonders of New Brunswick. One of Canada’s oldest provinces, New Brunswick remains remarkably unspoiled: 85 percent of the province remains unsettled. New Brunswick boasts vast forests, purling streams, gentle hills, rich farmlands, and a spectacular coastline dotted by historic towns. Nature also blessed the area with one of her most astonishing phenomena: the reversing River Rapids. The fierce tides of the Bay of Fundy rise with such force that they actually cause the St. John River to reverse direction and its waters to flow upstream. Saint John’s history dates to 1604, when the Sieur de Champlain landed nearby on the feast day of Saint John the Baptist. After the American Revolution, American Loyalists flocked to the area. Saint John became a thriving industrial port. But the catastrophic fire of 1877, declining commerce and decades of neglect gave the town a sad and careworn look for decades. That changed in recent years. Redevelopment of the waterfront and the old district has restored Saint John’s charm and its sense of history.
Day 9 Saturday 16 October, 2021 Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada
This morning our guided sightseeing tour takes us to Halifax’s historic waterfront, where we will hear tales of the Halifax Explosion of 1917, and enjoy the scenic Old Town area. We see the Fairview Lawn Cemetery, where over 100 victims of the Titanic are buried. We will also visit the quaint fishing village of Peggy’s Cove, home to one of the most spectacular lighthouses in Canada. Peggy’s Cove is famed for its picturesque and typically East-Coast profile, with houses perched along a narrow inlet and on wave-washed boulders facing the Atlantic. Although this unique environment has been designated a preservation area, it is still an active fishing community.
Day 10 Sunday 17 October, 2021 Sydney, Nova Scotia
Today we will enjoy a walking tour of the Colonial Town of Old Sydney, founded by Loyalists fleeing the American Revolution. We will see buildings that were constructed in the late 18th Century and turn of the 19th century. The tour will also take us to St. Patrick’s, the oldest Roman Catholic Church in Cape Breton; Cossit House, built in 1787; and Jost House, offering interesting exhibits from this same period.
Day 11 Monday 18 October, 2021 Charlottetown,
Prince Edward Island, Canada
We dock in Charlottetown, the gracious capital of Prince Edward Island, with street’s lined with colourful planters. Prince Edward Island is the location for the novel Anne of Green Gables and the home of the author Lucy Maud Montgomery. We visit Anne of Green Gables Museum at Silverbush. This is the spacious house, where the author was married in 1911. We then tour some of the island and see the spectacular scenery and a lighthouse before we return to Charlottetown and the ship.
Day 12 Tuesday 19 October, 2021 At sea
The morning will be free to explore the wonderful facilities of the ship. This afternoon join the group for a fun game of bingo, with prizes for the winners.
Day 13 Wednesday 20 October, 2021 Quebec City, Canada
We arrive in the historic city of Quebec today. Founded in 1608 the Old Town of Quebec is the only walled city in North America and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. At over 400 years-old the city is known for its cobblestone streets and squares and historic buildings. We will enjoy a walking tour through the charming streets of Québec’s Old Town, best explored on foot, to discover nearly four centuries of history in what is essentially a living museum. See Place-Royale where typical stone buildings surrounding the historic square that constitutes the heart of the Lower Town. It is home to North America’s oldest Catholic Church – Notre-Damedes- Victoires. Petit-Champlain Street, around the corner from Place-Royale, is a charming pedestrian only area. The lower town has streets lined with shops and art galleries, which reflect the street’s 18th century heritage. We see the Royal Battery, which has been reconstructed and replicas of 18th century canons are on display. We travel to Place Royal Square in the upper town, which was the hub of the city’s economic activity until the mid-19th century. We see the Citadel and Quebec’s fortifications.
Day 14 Thursday 21 October, 2021 Quebec City
We disembark the ship this morning and continue our sightseeing in Quebec. We are then transferred to our hotel, our home for the next 2 nights. The rest of the afternoon will be free.
Day 15 Friday 22 October, 2021 Quebec City
This morning we travel on the scenic train journey of Train de Charlevoix, from Quebec City through spectacular landscapes, seaside towns and villages. Founded by the owner of the Cirque du Soleil, Daniel Gauthier, the train travels through an amazing mountain and sea landscape and offers a unique 125 km rail journey across a legendary region of natural beauty. We will have time to explore historic towns before returning to Quebec and our hotel.
Day 16 Saturday 23 October, 2021 Montreal, Canada
Today we travel to the city of Montreal, founded in 1642 by French colonists. By the 1860s it was the economic heart of Canada. Today it is the second biggest city in Canada, only to Toronto, and the largest French-speaking city in Canada. On arrival we enjoy a guided tour of Old Montreal. We see bustling Place Jacques Cartier and the Basilique Notre Dame, situated in Place D’Armes. We see the Old Seminary built by Sulpician missionaries in 1685, the oldest building in Montreal. The downtown area of Montreal has a North American look, with wide thoroughfares winding through a forest of skyscrapers. We check-in to our hotel in the afternoon.

This morning we visit Chateau de Ramezay, built in 1705 as the residence of Montreal Governor Claude de Ramezay. It is now a museum of early Quebec history and the enclosed garden next door has been re-created to resemble one like those cultivated by Montreal’s nobility in the 18th century. It was the first building in Québec to be classified as a historic monument. This evening we will enjoy a farewell dinner to celebrate our journey.

This morning we say farewell to Montreal and transfer to the airport for our return flight to Australia.

International touring can involve a considerable amount of walking and stair climbing in the places visited and it is important that all tour participants have a level of physical fitness that allows them to take part in this activity without the need of assistance from others.

DEPOSIT AND PAYMENT:
A deposit of $900 per person should be sent with a completed Travelrite International booking form that lists your requested cabin category. As soon as the booking is confirmed, (usually within 24 hours), a cruise confirmation advice will be posted to the client. The confirmation advice will contain all details. Final payments are due to be paid to Travelrite International 90 days prior to the commencement of the Caribbean Princess fly/ cruise. A 1.5% administration fee will be added to payments by credit card.

All passengers will require a valid passport. If you are not an Australian passport holder check with Travelrite International for visa requirements. A US ESTA and Canadian ETA are required.
Adequate travel insurance is highly recommended to cover cruise members for the consequences of unforeseen events during the cruise and for cancellation fees which could result from such events such as illness, accident, death etc.
Passengers qualify for 23kg of baggage allowance on flights to join or return from the cruise.
CHANGES TO THE TOUR ITINERARY:
Travelrite International reserves the right to make changes to the tour itinerary to fit in with operational requirements. Any change to the itinerary will be replaced with similar arrangements with an equal or greater value.
MINIMUM TOUR NUMBERS:
The fly/cruise arrangements have been made on the basis of a minimum number of passengers travelling. In the event that less than the required number of passengers have confirmed their booking 90 days from the date of departure, Travelrite International reserves the right to cancel the tour, giving a full refund of monies paid, or offer arrangements to proceed with the tour at a modified fare.
Children under 5 years of age are ineligible on coach & cruise tours. Children under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. Passengers with disabilities are welcome on Travelrite & Cruise Offers tours provided they are accompanied by a companion capable of providing all necessary assistance, and do not require special assistance from Travelrite & Cruise Offers personnel. Travelrite and Cruise Offers reserves the right to refuse to carry anyone if it is felt the individual cannot cope with the requirements of coach & cruise tour travel and who may require services and facilities that Travelrite & Cruise Offers cannot guarantee will be available. You agree to not hold the Travelrite & Cruise Offers responsible for any decision made by any of them or any service provider to refuse to carry you, provide any facilities or accommodation to you or to provide any service to you.

You engage Travelrite International to book this tour on your behalf and you acknowledge that Travelrite International acts as your agent for the purpose of making contracts between you and the various providers of accommodation, transportation and other services that comprise the tour. Travelrite International may without reference to you provide or make available to you, or may as your agent engage any third party to provide or make available to you, any good or service which Travelrite International reasonably believes is necessary for your benefit to maintain the tour itinerary, repatriate you or otherwise accommodate, transport or sustain you in circumstances in which the tour itinerary fails wholly or partly for any reason. You appoint Travelrite International your attorney for this purpose. You agree to pay Travelrite International any cost thereof and you indemnify Travelrite International in respect of any cost it incurs in this regard.
