The Lau Island Group consists of 57 islets, of which only 30 are inhabited and if you enjoy getting off the beaten track these islands are for you, with no public transport or restaurants to be found. The Kadavu Group is made up of four main islands, of which Kadavu is the largest. It is home to the Great Astrolabe Reef, one of the world’s largest barrier reefs and a renowned site for premier diving. Most days offer the opportunity to snorkel, swim and scuba dive the pristine waters of these beautiful islands and when you’re not experiencing all that they have to offer, you’ll enjoy the relaxing hospitality aboard the MV Reef Endeavour. MV Reef Endeavour is a small cruise ship catering for 130 passengers over 4 accommodation levels. Her small size allows her to negotiate remote islands, reefs & shallow bays where bigger ships are unable to go, showcasing the real Fiji and giving our passengers a true cultural experience. MV Reef Endeavour has 63 recently refurbished Tabua Suites, Staterooms and Cabins. DAY 1: Saturday 23 October 2021 Depart/Denarau, Fiji
Our holiday begins with our flight to Nadi, Fiji. Upon arrival we will be transferred to our hotel on Denarau Island.
DAY 2: Sunday 24 October 2021 Denarau
This morning will be free to relax at the resort. This afternoon enjoy a sightseeing tour visiting Nadi and the Garden of the Sleeping Giant. We first visit the Sri Siva Subramaniya Temple, the largest Hindu temple in the Southern Hemisphere. Enjoy time at the fragrant fruit and vegetable markets and browse handmade goods in the handicraft markets before visiting the Garden of the Sleeping Giant. The Garden, which contains a collection of 30 to 40 varieties of magnificent Asian orchids and Cattleya hybrids, was once the private collection of the late American actor Raymond Burr. Late afternoon we return to our hotel. This evening we enjoy an included Welcome dinner.
DAY 3: Monday 25 October 2021 Denarau
Today we will enjoy a tour to the Coral Coast on the south west coast of Fiji’s main island, Viti Levu. We travel past sugar cane plantations and spectacular beaches before a visit to Kula Eco Park featuring habitats of local parrots, doves, water birds & reptiles and which hosts the world’s largest breeding program for iguanas. We will return to our hotel mid afternoon.
DAY 4: Tuesday 26 October 2021 Embarkation/Tivua Island
This morning is free before we transfer to the port to join our cruise. After boarding there will be a full briefing from our guide before an afternoon of beach activities at Tivua Island. Most days will offer the opportunity to snorkel, swim and Scuba dive the pristine waters of the beautiful Lau group. Later in the evening, enjoy a wonderful welcome dinner as you cruise into a south pacific sunset. Overnight we cross the 180 Degree Meridian International Date Line.
DAY 5: Wednesday 27 October 2021 Makogai Island
We start our day at Makogai Island with a traditional Fijian ceremony before joining the 1 hour walking tour of Makogai leper colony and clam research station. There will be an opportunity in the afternoon to return to the island visiting the local primary school children who will entertain us with their song and dance.
DAY 6: Thursday 28 October 2021 Taveuni Island
A wonderfully relaxing day as we explore a beautiful beach on the rugged southern coastline of Taveuni, take a hike to a spectacular waterfall and fresh water pool, enjoy a picnic lunch ashore and a chat with the locals.
DAY 7: Friday 29 October 2021 Lau-Wailagilala Island
We reach the most northern island of Lau-Wailagilala today. We will see the remains of a disused lighthouse and have a chance to explore the abundant fish life whilst snorkelling.
DAY 8: Saturday 30 October 2021 Vanuabalavu Island
Qilaqila, at the northwest end of Vanuabalavu, is known for its pristine waters, limestone caves and mushroom shaped islands. This is also known as the Bay of Islands and is famous for its amazing scenery and pristine reefs. We will have plenty of time to explore the area.
DAY 9: Sunday 31 October 2021 Oneata
Today we arrive at Oneata, where the local people will welcome us at their Methodist Tongan Church for Sunday service. The harmonies of the Oneata choir will inspire you.
DAY 10: Monday 1 November 2021 Fulaga & Yagasa Islands
The ship has an early start today to cruise to Fulaga Island, which is an extinct volcano crater and known for its crystal lagoon and amazing corals. This afternoon we arrive at one of the Yagasa Islands, for snorkelling, swimming, coral viewing or kayaking.
DAY 11: Tuesday 2 November 2021 Vuaqava Island
Explore uninhabited Vuaqava and its central lake known for turtles, snakes & amazing bird life. This is a sacred island for the Fijian culture and there will be an island walk to explore these relics. Please be warned that a reasonable level of fitness will be required as the return walk is approximately 3 hours and quite difficult to negotiate.
DAY 12: Wednesday 3 November 2021 Kabara Island
Today we are welcomed & entertained by the people of Naikeleyaga Village on the island of Kabara, known for their wood turning and Tongan heritage. Experience a traditional Meke, Sevusevu & lovo, (welcome dance and feast) quite different from the traditional Fijian.
DAY 13: Thursday 4 November 2021 Totoya Island
Horse-shoe shaped Totoya Island is our destination today. We will visit a local school and the children will surprise you with their entertainment and show you their work. We will also have the opportunity to explore their reefs.
DAY 14: Friday 5 November 2021 Kadavu Island
We arrive in Kadavu and head to the Village of Nalotu for a welcome Sevusevu, then a tour of the village where you can witness the making of traditional fishing traps and pottery. The women of Nalotu village still make clay pottery in the time-honoured tradition that is rarely seen in Fiji anymore. This evening don your sulu (sarong) and join all the celebrations of our Pacific Islands Night Finale.
DAY 15: Saturday 6 November 2021 Disembark/Departure
Disembark at Port Denarau feeling refreshed. We will be transferred to the airport for flights to Australia.

International touring can involve a considerable amount of walking and stair climbing in the places visited and it is important that all tour participants have a level of physical fitness that allows them to take part in this activity without the need of assistance from others.
Travelrite International Pty Ltd, (ABN 64 005 817 078) is the tour operator. The MV Reef Endeavour is operated by Captain Cook Cruises.
The tour costs are based on general transport, entry and accommodation costs. Travelrite reserves the right to alter the costs if any of these factors change, giving any passenger that has booked the right to withdraw with full refund of monies paid or modify arrangements. No alterations to price will be made within 90 days of departure from Australia.
DEPOSIT AND PAYMENT:
A deposit of $750 per passenger is required at the time of booking. Full payment will be required 90 days before departure for the Fijian Islands Discovery Cruise tour. Cancellation over 90 days before tour departs the deposit is refundable. Cancellation under 90 days before tour departs will result in a loss of all monies paid. Payment may be made by cheque, cash or credit card. A 1.5% administration fee will be charged on payments made by credit cards.
Travel insurance is recommended to cover the costs of cancellation fees due to illness, death in family, etc.
Travelrite reserves the right to change advertised entrances if necessary for the smooth operation of the tour.
All passengers will require a valid passport with at least six months validity from your return date. Visas will be required for Egypt.
Due to cruise restrictions, tour members can only bring one large suitcase.
MINIMUM TOUR NUMBERS:
The tour has been priced on the basis of a minimum number of passengers having booked 90 days prior to departure. Travelrite reserves the right to cancel the tour, giving a full refund of all monies paid or offer arrangements to proceed with the tour at a modified cost.
Children under 5 years of age are ineligible on coach & cruise tours. Children under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. Passengers with disabilities are welcome on Travelrite & Cruise Offers tours provided they are accompanied by a companion capable of providing all necessary assistance, and do not require special assistance from Travelrite & Cruise Offers personnel. Travelrite and Cruise Offers reserves the right to refuse to carry anyone if it is felt the individual cannot cope with the requirements of coach & cruise tour travel and who may require services and facilities that Travelrite & Cruise Offers cannot guarantee will be available. You agree to not hold the Travelrite & Cruise Offers responsible for any decision made by any of them or any service provider to refuse to carry you, provide any facilities or accommodation to you or to provide any service to you.

Travelrite acts only as an agent in the making of arrangements for hotels, transportation, restaurants or any other service and does not assume any liability whatsoever for any injury, damage, death, loss, accident or delay to person or property due to an act of negligence or a default of any hotel, carrier, restaurant company or person rendering any services included in the tour, or by act of God. Further no responsibilities are accepted for any damage or delay due to sickness, pilferage, labour disputes, machinery break-down, quarantine, government restraints, weather, terrorism or other causes beyond their control. No responsibility is accepted for any additional expense, omission, delays, re-routing or acts of any government authority. The passage contract between the carriers concerned, when issued, shall constitute the sole contract between the carriers and the purchasers of this tour and/or the passengers. The right is reserved to withdraw any tour and/or make such changes in the tour as may be found desirable or necessary for the convenience of the parties and the proper carrying out of the tour. This contract shall be construed in accordance of the laws of the State of Victoria, Australia and any legal action must be undertaken in the State of Victoria. DELAYS AND UNFORESEEN EVENTS:
You engage Travelrite International to book this tour on your behalf and you acknowledge that Travelrite International acts as your agent for the purpose of making contracts between you and the various providers of accommodation, transportation and other services that comprise the tour. Travelrite International may without reference to you provide or make available to you, or may as your agent engage any third party to provide or make available to you, any good or service which Travelrite International reasonably believes is necessary for your benefit to maintain the tour itinerary, repatriate you or otherwise accommodate, transport or sustain you in circumstances in which the tour itinerary fails wholly or partly for any reason. You appoint Travelrite International your attorney for this purpose. You agree to pay Travelrite International any cost thereof and you indemnify Travelrite International in respect of any cost it incurs in this regard. Travelrite advises you to obtain travel insurance generally including in respect of the risk that any such good or service may become required
