Pride of America Deck plans

Pride of America

Aloha! Step aboard Pride of America, Norwegian Cruise Lines’ only ship that sails out of Honolulu year-round. As you journey from one exotic island to the next, learn about Hawaiian culture through the eyes of native ambassadors on board our ship. Island hop Hawaii in style; Pride of America has more than 15 restaurants and 12 bars & lounges. In the evenings enjoy fabulous Broadway-style shows.

Pre-dinner entertainment

Some evenings on the cruise there will be Pre-Dinner Drinks entertainment, with each session featuring one of our exclusive Music Cruise acts. These informal sessions (perhaps 7 or 8 songs) have become a very popular feature of our music cruises.

Wayne Horsburgh

Wayne Horsburgh is one of Australia’s most successful country music entertainers. Influenced by Slim Whitman and Frank Ifield, his style of yodelling is a real crowd pleaser. Originally from Benalla, Wayne moved to Sydney in 1979 to expand his music career and also tour the world. For 25 years Wayne spent part of each year in the USA, sharing stages at Festivals and Fairs with some of country music’s biggest stars, including Merle Haggard, The Statler Brothers, and Mickey Gilley. Wayne has released 30 albums, including 3 albums of Hawaiian songs. Wayne is looking forward to sharing his passion for Hawaii, and Hawaiian music, with you on the 2018 Hawaii Ukulele Music Cruise

Sam Lemann

Sam Lemann is a highly respected musician from Melbourne. His interest in the ukulele and Hawaiian music began in the 1980s. Since then he has developed a sweet jazzy island sound, helped along by frequent trips to Hawaii, where he’s picked up tips from many of Hawaii’s musical greats. Sam has been a regular performer & workshop presenter at festivals, including the Newcastle Ukulele Festival, the Melbourne Ukulele Festival, & the Fairbridge Folk Festival (WA). The ABC recently released an album, The Ukulele, featuring Sam on 8 tracks. Sam is also an outstanding lead guitarist. He will fill two roles on the 2018 Hawaii Ukulele Music Cruise....he will run the Ukulele Workshops and ‘jam’ sessions, and he will play lead guitar in the Music Cruise backing band.

John Howie

John Howie was a secondary school music teacher for 23 years (he taught Kylie Minogue). He and his twin brother, Graeme, perform as The Howie Brothers. John has been leading successful music tours for 22 years. John Howie is passionate about his Music Tours and every tour is the result of a huge amount of thought and ‘attention to detail’. He has been organising Music Tours since 1995, and his tours are full of travel/sightseeing ‘gems’ and unforgettable music highlights. John knows the best music venues to visit and the best performers to see.

Andy Toombs

Andy is an outstanding electric bass player, guitarist, and singer. He constantly tours Australia, as a backing musician, with Australia’s top country music stars, including Adam Harvey, Beccy Cole, Bill Chambers and Catherine Britt. Andy has also done a huge amount of overseas travelling, some as a musician, but much of it because he is passionate about seeing the world. On this cruise/tour Andy will be the bass player in the Caribbean Music Cruise backing band, but he will do lots of individual performing as well.

Gill Delaney

Gill Delaney (accordion/ukulele/mouth organ player) has played in dance bands most of her life, and knows a million tunes! Her evening singalong sessions have been a very popular feature of previous John Howie / Travelrite music cruises, and they will be happening again on this cruise/tour. The sessions are open to everybody on the ship and people are encouraged to bring their instruments and voices and join in.

Clothing on board Pride of America

You will need casual shipboard attire for day wear and evening wear. For casual nights on board you will need a sports shirt and slacks and equivalent for ladies. Informal nights require a jacket and tie for gentlemen and equivalent for ladies. For evenings on formal nights, a dinner suit or dark suit for gentlemen and evening wear for ladies is recommended. The self-service restaurants are casual.
