MS Noordam Deck plans

MS Noordam

MS Noordam is a premium quality cruise ship with every convenience and comfort built-in. She carries 1,916 passengers and a crew of 800. Noordam guests enjoy dazzling entertainment options from their very first night on board, including B.B.King’s Blues Club. Direct from Beale Street, the B.B.King All-Star band brings the best of Memphis music on board.

The Hillbilly Goats

The Hillbilly Goats have been Raisin’ a Ruckkus for 9 years. They use the traditional tunes and tools of old-time Appalachian music but apply their own zany, modern twist. Undoubtedly one of Australia’s most colourful and popular country music acts. “Kick Yer Shoes off, Put Yer Hoe Down and Hang on to Yer Britches!” The band is comprised of Bryce Wearne (drums, guitar, banjo, harmonica, vocals); Mahney Wearne (upright bass, Appalachian dancing, vocals), and Jacinta Simons (fiddle, vocals).

Camille Te Nahu and Stuie French are one of Australia’s top country music acts. Stuie is one of Australia’s finest guitar pickers, touring and recording with many of Australia’s top country artists, as well as his own band, the Feral Swing Katz. Camille has one of the most beautiful singing voices you will ever hear. They have won 3 Golden Guitar awards at Tamworth. They will be accompanied, on the cruise, by their outstanding regular band members, Garry Steele (accordion) and Geoff Simpson (bass).

The Beggars met at an audition in Adelaide, in 2006, and decided to form a band and record their own songs. Songs from their first two albums caught the attention of European DJs and put The Beggars on the charts across the E.U., with The Banjo Song going to the number one spot. The band has now released 5 albums and become a regular feature on the European and Australian touring circuits. Band members are: Renee Donaghey, Quinton Dunne and Stuart Day.

The HOT String Band

The Hobart Old Time String Band is a community band of up to 20 musicians who share a passion for acoustic old time music & related genres. The aim of the band is to provide a community forum for lovers of American old time hillbilly and related instrumental music to get together and improve their musical and performance skills. The band has recorded 3 CDs. The HOT String Band’s huge ‘wall-ofsound’ gets faces smiling and toes tapping.

UKI is a 7-piece ukulele group that has emerged from the larger Kangaroo Island Ukulele Group. UKI often performs for tour groups visiting Kangaroo Island, but has done performances in other parts of Australia, including the Melbourne Ukulele Festival. UKI enjoys playing songs from a mix of music genres, including instrumental pieces like The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, vintage pieces like My Canary has Circles Under his Eyes, and all-time favourites like Hit the Road Jack and Fever. UKI stands for ‘Ukulele Kangaroo Island’.

John Howie

John Howie is part of The Howie Brothers, one of Australia’s leading country music/easy listening acts. John and his twin brother, Graeme, have been performing, recording, and writing songs for over 40 years and are renowned for their distinctive vocal harmony sound. John plays a variety of instruments, including piano, guitar, accordion, mandolin, ukulele, & drums. John has been running successful music tours & music cruises for 24 years.

Gill Delaney

Gill Delaney’s evening singalong sessions. Gill is an accordion/ukulele/mouth organ player from Wangaratta. She has played in bands most of her life, and knows a million tunes. Her evening singalong sessions have been a very popular feature of previous John Howie / Travelrite music cruises and they will be happening again, most nights on this cruise/tour. The sessions are open to everybody on the ship and people are encouraged to bring their instruments & voices and join in. John Howie will join Gill for these singalong sessions
