



Darren Seinor is the Weekend Gardening host on radio 6PR in Perth and a life long gardener. He has been running his boutique landscape business Garden Solutions, building & maintaining garden throughout Perth & WA for 20 years and is the Current President of the Landscape Industry Association of WA. He has spent over a decade working in the horticultural media as a presenter for The Garden Gurus, Greenfingers & My Garden and two years as garden feature writer for The Sunday Times in Perth. Darren is the father of 3 boys, a sports lover and a passionate advocate for green spaces in our cities & suburbs.
VIEW ITINERARYDAY 1 Friday 28 October, 2022 Bowral
Tour members will travel to Sydney this morning. The coach will be ready for departure from
Sydney Airport at 12.30pm. We will drive south to visit Red Cow Farm, a unique cool climate
garden in the village of Sutton Forest. Developed around a cottage from the 1820s there are
number of garden rooms; a cottage garden, a monastery garden, an abbess’s garden and many
old fashioned roses and perennials. This evening we will come together for a Welcome Dinner to
formally meet Darren Seinor.
DAY 2 Saturday 29 October, 2022 Bowral
Today we will travel to Bundanoon for the Garden Ramble, which show cases the highest
standard gardens in the area. The gardens chosen for the Ramble offer diversity in design, size
and plantings. Gardens showcase the love and interpretation given to them by the owners. The
owners will all be available and keen to speak to group members.
DAY 3 Sunday 30 October, 2022 Bowral
Today we will visit the Garden Ramble. Darren will help group members with answers to questions
on plants and their suitability for growing in their gardens.
DAY 4 Monday 31 October, 2022 Bowral
Today we visit Redford Park, which dates back to a land grant in 1821. The house was built in 1887
by Samuel Horden as a rendered brick Italianate style residence. It is surrounded by a magnificent
collection of evergreen and deciduous trees, some very rare and unique. On the eastern side of
the property is a hedged garden. This afternoon we will visit the Southern Highlands Botanical
Gardens, which has recently been developed and for a visit to Glenys Lillendal’s garden of three
quarters of an acre. Glenys has travelled on many Travelrite International tours, where she has
found inspiration for developing her garden.
DAY 5 Tuesday 1 November, 2022 Bathurst
We are in for a treat today as we travel to near Oberon for visit to Mayfield Garden, one of the
world’s largest privately owned cool climate gardens, extending well over 160 acres. The garden
began to take shape in the mid-1990’s. The stunning water garden extends over six acres and
includes a spectacular stone and water featured garden filled with blue stone walls, man-made
water features and carefully selected plants to delight the senses.
DAY 6 Wednesday 2 November, 2022 Bathurst
Today we first visit Highfields Garden, which incorporates Cloverhill rare plants. During our
garden visit we will see many gorgeous rare plants and stunning perennial border plants,
displayed in the garden. Many of them have been imported by David Kennedy, the owner, over many years. We continue with a visit to Hillandale, a magnificent rambling country garden,
which features a fern lined spring creek, a woodland and a 120 metre long double herbaceous
border. Many trees on the property are up to one hundred years old. The tour manager will meet
those wishing to dine with the group.
DAY 7 Thursday 3 November, 2022 Bathurst
This morning we visit Coryu Japanese Garden, a Japanese inspired garden, which contains the
most extensive range of maple varieties from around the world. The magnificent maples are
planted around ponds, mini waterfalls, rockeries, stones and handmade bridges creating a
gorgeous effect. This afternoon is free for individual activity in Bathurst.
DAY 8 Friday 4 November, 2022 Goulburn
Today we travel to Goulburn, where we visit Riversdale, a house in the early colonial Regency
style built about 1840 and surrounded by splendid gardens. We will see many rare and unusual
plants as Darren leads the group around the garden.
DAY 9 Saturday 5 November, 2022 Goulburn
Today we will first visit the Crookwell Garden Festival and the Garden Lovers Market, where there
will be a chance to purchase a whole range of rare and unusual plants. We will continue with visits
to several of the gorgeous cool climate gardens open for the Festival including the Edna Walling
designed garden, Markdale. The tour manager will meet those wishing to dine with the group.
DAY 10 Sunday 6 November, 2022 Nowra
This morning we will visit one of the gorgeous cool climate gardens open for the Festival. Darren will
help the group with plant identification. In the afternoon we travel to spectacular Bundanon.
Purchased by Arthur Boyd in 1979, it was presented to the nation in 1993. Bundanon is a beautiful
property situated on the Shoalhaven River and has been immortalised in the works of Sydney
Nolan and Arthur Boyd. We will enjoy a guided tour of the homestead and Arthur Boyd’s studio.
DAY 11 Monday 7 November, 2022 Canberra
This morning we visit the Shoalhaven Heads Native Botanic Garden. The garden has a fantastic
fernery, a bush tucker garden and a lot of variety in the plant selection. On arrival in Canberra
we will enjoy a sightseeing tour of the National Capital of Australia, Canberra. Following an
international competition, Walter Burley Griffin and Marion Mahony Griffin’s design plans were
decided upon for the Australian capital. Construction was started in 1913 using their plans. After
the Second World War, expansion really began. On our tour we will see Parliament House, the
War Memorial and more.
DAY 12 Tuesday 8 November, 2022 Canberra
This morning we will visit the National Botanic Gardens. The Gardens boast around 75,000 plants
from over 6,000 species. That’s nearly a third of Australia’s known native plant species. Most of
the plants are grouped by their geographic origin, botanical family or the ways they are used by
Indigenous Australians. Darren will point out the most interesting areas to visit. In the afternoon,
we visit a highly regarded private garden with a number of garden rooms, a fountain and pool.
DAY 13 Wednesday 9 November, 2022 Canberra
This morning we visit the National Arboretum. Some of the highlights include the Canberra
discovery garden, which explores Canberra’s unique climate, soils and geology and the National
Bonsai and Penjing collection housing the finest miniature trees in Australia. There will be free
time to explore the Arboretum and to have lunch before continuing to visit Cockington Green,
which displays meticulously crafted miniature buildings set within beautifully landscaped
gardens. In the evening we will come together for a Farewell Dinner to say goodbye to our group

DAY 14 Thursday 10 November , 2022 Home
We will travel to the airport mid-morning. Do not book a flight before 11.00 am. Some tour
members might like to stay on in Canberra to visit some of the wonderful museums.

Touring can involve a considerable amount of walking and stair climbing in the places visited and it is important that all tour participants have a level of physical fitness that allows them to take part in this activity without the assistance from others.

Deposit and Payment: A deposit of $500 per passenger for is required at the time of booking. Full payment will be required 60 days before departure for the Queensland Garden Tour and for the Garden Exploration of NSW and Canberra. Cancellation over 60 days before tour departs the deposit is refundable. Cancellation under 60 days before tour departs will result in a loss of all monies paid. Payment may be made by cheque or cash a 1.5% administration fee will be charged on payments made by credit cards.
Tour Costs: The tour costs are based on general transport, entry, and accommodation costs. Travelrite reserves the right to alter the costs if any of these factors change, giving any passenger that has booked the right to withdraw with full refund of monies paid or modify arrangements. No alterations to price will be made within 90 days of departure from Australia.
Refunds:
The tour is based on arrangements that do not allow for any refunds in respect to sightseeing, accommodation, meals, airfare or other services not utilized after the tour has commenced.
Baggage: Due to coach restrictions, tour members can only bring one large suitcase
Travel Insurance: Adequate travel insurance is highly recommended to cover cruise members for the consequences of unforeseen events during the cruise and for cancellation fees which could result from events such as illness, accident, death etc.

Travelrite and Cruise Offers reserves the right to refuse to carry anyone if it is felt the individual cannot cope with the requirements of coach & cruise tour travel and who may require services and facilities that Travelrite & Cruise Offers cannot guarantee will be available. You agree to not hold the Travelrite & Cruise Offers responsible for any decision made by any of them or any service provider to refuse to carry you, provide any facilities or accommodation to you or to provide any service to you.

You engage Travelrite International
to book this tour on your behalf and you acknowledge that Travelrite International
acts as your agent for the purpose of making contracts between you
and the various providers of accommodation, transportation and other services
that comprise the tour. Travelrite International may without reference to
you provide or make available to you, or may as your agent engage any third
party to provide or make available to you, any good or service which Travelrite
International reasonably believes is necessary for your benefit to maintain the
tour itinerary, repatriate you or otherwise accommodate, transport or sustain
you in circumstances in which the tour itinerary fails wholly or partly for any
reason. You appoint Travelrite International your attorney for this purpose. You
agree to pay Travelrite International any cost thereof and you indemnify Travelrite
International in respect of any cost it incurs in this regard. Travelrite advises you
to obtain travel insurance generally including in respect of the risk that any such
good or service may become required.
