About a third of people on the cruise travel alone. We will match people in twin-share cabins when available, saving you the single supplement. There will be group activities most days. A successful author with twenty-seven books to his credit, Jim has been the resident Australiana expert on Macquarie Radio's top rating weekend show with George and Paul for seventeen years Having spent the first twenty years of his working life as a teacher and academic, Jim started recording with a band he created in the late 1970s called Bandy Bill & Co and became a professional entertainer in 1988.
With 30 years involvement in the entertainment industry as an entertainer, recording artist, songwriter and producer, Jim toured extensively and has recorded over twenty albums with Festival, EMI, ABC Music, Sony and his own label, Singabout Australia. His comedy hit songs include Since Cheryl Went Feral and Don’t Call Wagga Wagga Wagga. The son of British migrants, Jim attended Sydney Boys’ High and Sydney Teachers’ College, taught in schools and universities in NSW and Britain and has two masters’ degrees in literature. He was on the board of the Country Music Association of Australia for fifteen years, was given Life Membership of the CMAA in 2015 and still performs as an entertainer and speaker, sharing his passion for all things Australian. We arrive at Circular Quay in Sydney at mid-day for processing before boarding Celebrity Solstice for our cruise to New Zealand. Be sure to be up on deck as Celebrity Solstice slips her moorings and slowly makes her way through Sydney Harbour and out through the Heads into the Pacific Ocean.
DAY 2 Tuesday November 10, 2020 Eden, Australia
Every year this region plays host to thousands of humpbacks heading home to Antarctica. Set in magnificent Twofold Bay – the third deepest natural harbour in the southern hemisphere, Eden was home to shore-based whaling stations. We will enjoy a tour of Eden including the Eden Killer Whale Museum. We will also visit Ben Boyd National Park and enjoy an easy walk along its rugged cliffs to Boyd Tower and Red Point Lookout.

Today we arrive in Melbourne, once christened 'Marvellous Melbourne' – in the 1850’s one of the world's biggest, booming and cosmopolitan cities of the era. We will tour the famous MCG and visit the National Gallery to learn more about Australia’s wonderful art history, then tour Melbourne Gaol and visit the now famous Melbourne laneways.

DAY 6 Saturday November 14, 2020 Hobart, Tasmania
Today we arrive in Hobart, a city with a distinctly European look and feel, and a unique local character. After Sydney, Hobart is the second-oldest capital city in the country, having been established in 1804 as a penal colony. We will visit Port Arthur, a village and historic site in southern Tasmania. History sits heavy at Port Arthur. Founded as a timber station in 1830, it quickly gained its continuing notoriety when it was chosen as the site of what would become Australia's most famous convict settlement. Port Arthur Historic Site is a special place of vivid history, cultural heritage and stories so compelling, you’ll want to hear them again and again. It’s a place of global significance – one of the 11 places that make up the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Australian Convict Sites. Later we will wander around the famous Salamanca market.

DAY 9 Tuesday November 17, 2020 Fiordland National Park, New Zealand
Today we cruise through some of the most spectacular scenery in New Zealand as we visit Milford Sound followed by Doubtful and Dusky Sounds. The fiords will be a highlight of the cruise, with spectacular scenery and fascinating wildlife. Nothing can prepare you for the majesty of Milford Sound, star of Fiordland National Park. New vistas mesmerise at each turn – towering Mitre Peak, rising 1692 metres above the Sound, plunging waterfalls, bottlenose and dusky dolphins, fur seals and Fiordland crested penguins are amongst this wonderland of outstanding natural beauty. In this idyllic environment Jim will give a talk on “How Songs Work”.
DAY 10 Wednesday November 18, 2020 Dunedin, New Zealand
We arrive in the city of Dunedin this morning. Originally founded by Scottish settlers and known as the “Edinburgh of the South”, it now consists of beautifully preserved buildings overlooking parklands. On arrival we will enjoy a tour of the city. We are then transferred to Dunedin’s beautiful railway station to enjoy a scenic railway journey to Taieri Gorge. This is a fascinating journey into some of New Zealand’s most iconic scenery and history, where passengers are amazed at the engineering feats of New Zealand’s early pioneers, set among the stunning landscape of the gorge.
DAY 11 Thursday November 19, 2020 Christchurch, New Zealand
Today we call into Lyttleton, the port for Christchurch. We will enjoy a sightseeing tour of Christchurch. With its very English feel, Christchurch is the largest city on the south island of New Zealand. The city boasts modern architecture and historic buildings set against beautiful parks, gardens, rivers and beaches. We will enjoy a tour of the city and then enjoy a ride on the famous Christchurch Gondola. As we glide our way over the valleys and see the birds flying below, the views will take our breath away!
DAY 12 Friday November 20, 2020 Wellington, New Zealand
This morning we will have a sightseeing tour of the main sights of Wellington, including the Houses of Parliament known as “the Beehive”. We visit Mount Victoria, where we have 360 degree views of the city, then travel by cable car to the Botanical Gardens. Later we visit the Weta Workshop, a special effects and prop company based in Miramar, New Zealand, producing effects for television and film. We will learn how Weta Workshop designed and manufactured practical effects for films like The Lord of the Rings, The Chronicles of Narnia and Ghost in the Shell.
DAY 13 Saturday November 21, 2020 At sea

DAY 14 Sunday November 22, 2020 Tauranga, New Zealand
We arrive in Tauranga this morning, a thriving commercial and business centre and a very busy port. Dominating the scene is the harbour and Mount Maunganui. This morning we will travel to Hobbiton, the site of the Hobbit Trilogy of films with 44 permanently reconstructed Hobbit Holes, in the same fantastic detail seen in the movies. Later we travel to Rotorua, a small city on the shores of Lake Rotorua, where we explore the geothermal activity of geysers, boiling mud pools and steaming craters. We will see a geyser display, where boiling water shoots many metres into the air and the blue and green lakes named for their reflective qualities.
DAY 15 Monday November 23, 2020 Auckland, New Zealand
This morning we dock in Auckland, the largest city and commercial centre of New Zealand. After disembarking, our morning city tour takes in the main sights of Auckland, including the Harbour Bridge, which spans the beautiful Waitemata Harbour, Mount Eden, where we get a panoramic view of the city, the Auckland Museum and the quaint and stylish shopping area of Parnell. This evening we will enjoy a farewell dinner and celebrate the end of our tour.

International touring can involve a considerable amount of walking and stair climbing in the places visited and it is important that all tour participants have a level of physical fitness that allows them to take part in this activity without the need of assistance from others.

Deposit and Payment: A deposit of $900 per passenger should be sent with a completed Travelrite International booking form that lists your requested cabin category. As soon as the booking is confirmed (usually within 24 hours) a cruise confirmation advice will be posted to the client. Final payments are due to be paid to Travelrite International 90 days prior to the commencement of the fly/cruise. A 1.5% administration fee will be added to all payments made creditcard. If fares and airtaxes change due to government and airport regulations and currency fluctuations Travelrite reserves the right to charge additional amounts.

The cruise is based on arrangements which do not allow for any refunds in respect to sightseeing, accommodation, meals or other services not utilised after the tour has commenced.

Adequate travel insurance is highly recommended to cover cruise members for the consequences of unforeseen events during the cruise and for cancellation fees which could result from events such as illness, accident, death etc.
Passengers qualify for a 30kg free baggage allowance on flights to join or return from the cruise.
Minimum Tour Numbers:
The fly/cruise arrangements have been made on the basis of a minimum number of passengers travell-ing. In the event that less than the required number of passengers have confirmed their booking 90 days from the date of departure, Travelrite International reserve the right to cancel the tour, giving a full refund of monies paid, or offer arrangements to proceed with the tour at a modified fare.
Children under 5 years of age are ineligible on coach & cruise tours. Children under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. Passengers with disabilities are welcome on Travelrite & Cruise Offers tours provided they are accompanied by a companion capable of providing all necessary assistance, and do not require special assistance from Travelrite & Cruise Offers personnel. Travelrite and Cruise Offers reserves the right to refuse to carry anyone if it is felt the individual cannot cope with the requirements of coach & cruise tour travel and who may require services and facilities that Travelrite & Cruise Offers cannot guarantee will be available. Delays And Unforeseen Events:
You engage Travelrite International to book this tour on your behalf and you acknowledge that Travelrite International acts as your agent for the purpose of making contracts between you and the various providers of accommodation, transportation and other services that comprise the tour. Travelrite may without reference to you provide or make available to you, or may as your agent engage any third party to provide or make available to you, any good or service which Travelrite reasonably believes is necessary for your benefit to maintain the tour itinerary, repatriate you or otherwise accommodate, transport or sustain you in circumstances in which the tour itinerary fails wholly or partly for any reason. You appoint Travelrite International your attorney for this purpose. You agree to pay Travelrite any cost thereof and you indemnify Travelrite in respect of any cost it incurs in this regard. Travelrite advises you to obtain travel insurance generally including in respect of the risk that any such good or service may become required.
