Day 1 Wednesday 23 February 2011 Departure

This afternoon we board the majestic Queen Elizabeth. Be up on deck as we cruise out through spectacular Sydney Harbour. We cruise around Australia and north to Asia.

Day 2 Thursday 24 February 2011 At sea
A day at sea to enjoy the facilities of the ship. This evening we will have a Welcome Cocktail Party to celebrate the start of the cruise.

Day 3 Friday 25 February 2011 Melbourne
Today we arrive in the city of Melbourne, where the first European settlers arrived in 1835. Melbourne is a city of Victorian era buildings, parks, gardens, and leafy boulevards. This morning we have a guided tour, where you will find heritage and architectural splendour at every turn. Starting with the historic Victoria Market, then we visit Australia’s only World Heritage inscribed building, the Royal Exhibition Building, the Victorian façade of the Melbourne City Baths, the Town Hall and the State Library. We move on to the Fitzroy and Treasury Gardens, where we see Captain Cook’s Cottage. The afternoon will be free to enjoy Melbourne’s many art galleries, shops, museums and gardens.

Day 4 Saturday 26 February 2011 At sea
This afternoon we will divide the group into teams to play The Seniors Trivial Pursuit. There will be prizes for the winning teams.

Day 5 Sunday 27 February 2011 At sea
The day is free to enjoy the wonderful facilities of the ship. Visit the Library, where you can borrow from over six thousand titles. In the evening attend a show in the splendid Royal Court Theatre.

Day 6 Monday 28 February 2011 At sea
A day at sea, perhaps enjoy pampering in the Cunard Health Club and Spa. This afternoon we will play The Seniors Bingo. There will be prizes for the winners.

Day 7 Tuesday 1 March 2011 Fremantle/Perth
This morning we call in to the port of Fremantle, gateway to the city of Perth and Western Australia. We have a sightseeing tour of the modern city of Perth with a local guide. We will travel to Kings Park, an area of natural bush land, where we have spectacular views over the city. We see the Governor’s Residence, Parliament House, Perth University and learn about the early settlement of Perth.

Day 8 Wednesday 2 March 2011 At sea
A day to enjoy the facilities of the ship, perhaps attend a Broadway-style show. Come and test your knowledge this afternoon with a game of The Seniors Trivial Pursuit.

Day 9 Thursday 3 March 2011 At sea
A free day to enjoy the facilities of the ship. Perhaps attend an engaging guest speaker’s lecture or take a dip in one of the many pools.

Day 10 Friday 4 March 2011 At sea
Today you may choose to have a swim or enjoy a book while lying on one of the many deck chairs. This afternoon we have a fun session of The Seniors Bingo.

Day 11 Saturday 5 March 2011 Padung Bay, Bali
We arrive in Padang Bay today, a fishing village and port on the east coast of Bali. Traditional fishing boats line the spectacular white beach and various sized motor boats are moored at the shore. We will have a tour to Ubud, the arts and cultural heart of Bali. The township itself has interesting markets and many small shops.

Day 12 Sunday 6 March 2011 At sea
A free day to enjoy the facilities of the ship. This afternoon join our group for shipboard sports. We will organise members of the group in pairs to play quoits and shuffleboard with prizes for the winners.

Day 13 Monday 7 March 2011 At sea
A free day to enjoy the facilities of the ship.

Day 14 Tuesday 8 March 2011 At sea
Tour members will be able to enjoy the facilities of the ship. This afternoon we will play The Seniors Bingo.

Day 15 Wednesday 9 March 2011 At sea
Tour members will be able to enjoy the facilities of the ship. Perhaps enjoy a little pampering in the spa or massage room.

Day 16 Thursday 10 March 2011 Hong Kong
This morning we have a sightseeing tour of the spectacular city of Hong Kong. We will tour the island stopping at Stanley Market, visiting Victoria Peak known for its panoramic view of the harbour. We will also visit Aberdeen Harbour known for its traditional junks.

Day 17 Friday 11 March 2011 Hong Kong
Today is free for individual sightseeing. After enjoying the wonderful Queen Elizabeth cuisine at dinner go up on deck as the ship slips her moorings and cruises from Hong Kong to Nha Trang.

Day 18 Saturday 12 March 2011 At sea
A day at sea to enjoy the facilities of the ship and perhaps enjoy shopping in the wonderful boutiques on board.

Day 19 Sunday 13 March 2011 Nha Trang, Vietnam
We arrive in the city of Nha Trang, a relaxing seaside resort with Riviera-style beachfront, edged by a wide palm-lined boulevard, with classic colonial architecture. On our tour we will see the lookout of Po Nagar, and the luminously white statue of Buddha rising above the roofline of the town. We will also see the Long Son Pagoda and the beautiful Hon Chong Bay, a lovely island-studded bay with calm emerald waters.

Day 20 Monday 14 March 2011 Saigon
Today we arrive in the port for the city of Saigon, or Ho Chi Minh City as it is now known. This dynamic city is less entrenched in tradition and more cosmopolitan than Hanoi. We have a sightseeing tour with a local guide, where we see many relics of the colonial period. We see the pretentious red-brick Notre Dame Cathedral, the Central Post Office with an iron and glass ceiling, designed in 1891 by Gustave Eiffel, the Ben Thanh market and the Hotel de Ville, a town hall lifted straight out of the French provinces. We check into our hotel where we stay for the next two nights.

Day 21 Tuesday 15 March 2011 Saigon
This morning we drive to the extraordinary Cu Chi tunnels, about 65 km (1½ hours’ drive) from Saigon. The complicated underground network was built by Viet Cong guerillas. We will see local people engaged in occupations such as cashew nut farming, duck breeding, rice farming and production of rice paper, a key ingredient in Vietnamese cuisine. After returning to the hotel the rest of the day will be free. We have a farewell dinner this evening to celebrate the wonderful time we have had on the cruise.

Day 22 Wednesday 16 March 2011 In flight
The morning will be free. In the afternoon we transfer to the airport for our flight home.

Day 23 Thursday 17 March 2011 Australia
We arrive in Australian ports this morning and the tour concludes.

Extension Tour to Angkor Wat

Day 1 Wednesday 16 March 2011 Siem Reap
We fly to Siem Reap today. On arrival we check into our hotel where we stay for four nights.

Day 2 Thursday 17 March 2011 Siem Reap
This morning we have our first visit to the famous temple of Cambodia, Angkor Wat. It is visually, architecturally and artistically breathtaking. Its massive three-tiered pyramid crowned by five beehive-like towers rises sixty-five meters from ground level. This temple is the centrepiece of any visit to the temples of Angkor. In the afternoon we visit Preah Khan, Neak Pean, Ta Som, and East Meborn

Day 3 Friday 18 March 2011 Siem Reap
Today we will visit the South Gate of Angkor area. We will see Thom, Bayon, Baphoun, Terrace of Elephant, Terrace of Leper King and Pimean Akas. After lunch we visit Thommanon, Chau Say Teveda, Ta Keo, Ta Promh, Banteay Kdei and Sras Srang. We take in the romantic view at sunset from Bakheng Hill before we return to the hotel.

Day 4 Saturday 19 March 2011 Siem Reap
This morning we visit the flooded forest of Kompong Phhluk. We have an atmospheric tour of the forest and a village built on stilts. The afternoon will be free to explore Siem Reap. We have a farewell dinner to celebrate our enjoyable time in Siem Reap.

Day 5 Sunday 20 March 2011 Departure
Today we are transferred to the airport for the flight back to Australia. Day 6 Monday 21 March 2011 Arrival This morning we arrive into Australia.
