Deryn Thorpe

Deryn Thorpe has worked as a journalist for 30 years and writes a weekly gardening column in Habitat and regular garden stories for The West Australian newspaper. She is a presenter on Greenfingers television show on Channel 7, is a popular speaker at garden clubs and is the WA expert for Your Garden magazine. Her experience includes garden talkback on ABC radio, editing garden books and work as a garden tour guide.

Deryn volunteered for six years with Australia's Open Garden Scheme where she was Chair of WA Selectors. Her own beautiful cottage style garden opened for the scheme. She runs a successful Perth garden consultancy and assists in the family revegetation and land care business. In 2011 she was made a Life Member of the Horticultural Media Association Australia (HMA).
