Helen Young

Helen Young is a well-known gardening identity, who has been writing a weekly column for The Australian newspaper since February 2001.
Sydney residents will know her as a long-term regular on 702 ABC’s Saturday morning gardening show and she has published two gardening books. She writes regularly for Your Garden and House and Garden magazines and also contributes to Gardening Australia magazine. Operating her own landscaping business for the past 14 years, Helen has designed and advised on gardens, lectures at university and is passionate about plants. She led a garden tour to Spain and Portugal in 2002 for the Friends of the Royal Botanic Gardens Sydney, and in 2005, 2006 and 2007 led Travelrite garden tours to England, Italy and France as well as Japan. Helen looks forward to sharing her horticultural knowledge and enthusiasm with members of this tour.
