The Entertainers
Adam Harvey
Country singer Adam Harvey is one of the biggest names in the Australian entertainment industry. Although his voice and style are not unlike Johnny Cash or Elvis, he's still uniquely Adam Harvey. In recent years he's won 7 Golden Guitars at the Country Music Awards in Tamworth, including Male Vocalist of the Year and Album of the Year awards. With his captivating personality and laconic humour he has already gained significant recognition overseas, performing three times on the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville and winning the prestigious Country Music Association (of America) Global Artist Award in 2007.
Beccy Cole
Beccy Cole is well known for her outstanding live shows. As well as being a celebrated singer and songwriter, she is an accomplished comedienne. Her wicked brand of humour often has audiences roaring with laughter. She has won many awards, including 7 Golden Guitar awards in Tamworth. Beccy has toured with Willie Nelson, Kenny Rogers, Tom T Hall, The Bellamy Brothers, Glen Campbell and Don Mclean. A divorced, working single mother, she has always had the ability to laugh in the face of adversity. Beccy's energy and generosity are infectious, and her honesty and lack of pretence are refreshing.
Craig Giles
Craig Giles ("Mr Versatile") is one of Australia's most popular entertainers. His rich singing voice, dynamic stage presence, and friendly personality have earned him a place as one of the top artists in Australian country music, rock 'n' roll, and rockabilly. He is well known for his outstanding Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash Tribute shows. Craig is based in Temora, NSW, but over the years has toured extensively, performing in thousands of places, including the Sydney Opera House and Hobart's Wrest Point Casino. He has many successful albums, hit singles, and music industry awards to his credit.
Laura Downing
Laura Downing, from Brisbane, is one of Australia's most sought after entertainers. A multi-award winning yodeller, comedienne and balladeer, Laura has toured extensively throughout Australia, New Zealand and Europe and has worked with many well-known performers, including Lee Kernaghan, Beccy Cole and Adam Harvey. She has 6 CDs and 2 DVDs to her credit.
The Howie Brothers
The Howie Brothers are one of Australia's leading country music / easy listening acts. Twin brothers John and Graeme Howie have been performing and recording for over 30 years and are renowned for their distinctive vocal harmony sound. They play a variety of instruments, including piano, guitar, accordion, mandolin, ukulele and drums. Their music is essentially Australian country, with bluegrass, Irish/Scottish, easy listening, singalongtype influences. On the cruise John and Graeme will perform with long-time musical partner Robert Edge (electric bass; banjo; guitar; comedy) and, hopefully, Barry Roy (one of Australia's best country and rock n' roll lead guitarists).
Carole Sturtzel
Carole Sturtzel has for many years been called the 'Queen of Country Music' in South Australia. Carole started her career in 1961 when she joined a band called Tremors and began working around Adelaide. In 1962 she met and sang with the Penny Rockets and this led to her joining Woodies Teen Time on NWS 9. This show was the start of a long and distinguished career on TV, which included regular appearances on the Country and Western Hour, Country Style, and many other shows. Carole has been inducted into the Avenue of Honour at Barmera (1991) and the Hands of Fame Park in Tamworth (2000) with her daughter Beccy Cole. Carole and Beccy work together whenever possible and have had a nomination in Tamworth for their collaboration Mother Knows Best.
Barramundi Brothers
The Barramundi Brothers are a highly entertaining Townsville-based band with country / folk / bluegrass / skiffle type leanings. The band is unique in that many of the instruments they play have been made and designed by the band members for the express purpose of being able to work 'unplugged'. Their diverse repertoire includes the ever popular Plastic Jesus, and a great version of Here Comes the Sun, by The Beatles.
