Today we fly to Dubai.
Day 2 Saturday June 12, 2010 Dubai
This morning we arrive at the city of Dubai. Upon arrival, we are met by our private coach. We have a sightseeing tour of the city to see the modern developments that have catapulted it into the 21st century over the past few years. We are then transferred to our hotel.
Day 3 Sunday June 13, 2010 Dubai
A free day to relax in Dubai and enjoy its reputation for fabulous shopping. This evening the group will travel over hilly dunes to a secluded location for our fantastic “dinner in the desert” to have a BBQ dinner and watch traditional belly dancers. BD
Day 4 Monday June 14, 2010 Dawn Princess
Today we have a free morning for shopping before we depart the hotel and are transferred to the port to board the fabulous Dawn Princess. After you check into your cabin you can have a meal before enjoying the entertainment in the theatre. B
Day 5 Tuesday June 15, 2010 Dawn Princess
Our first day at sea. This evening join us for a welcome cocktail party to celebrate the start of our Dawn Princess cruise.

Day 10 Sunday June 20, 2010 Safaga, Egypt
Today we arrive in Safaga and travel to the ancient city of Luxor on the Nile for an exciting sightseeing tour. Luxor grew out of the ruins of Thebes, once the capital of ancient Egypt’s New Kingdom. The monumental temples of Luxor were the centre of the ancient Egyptian religion. We visit the famed Valley of the Kings, resting place of the Pharaohs. The tombs of the Pharoahs were located deep in the Theban Hills from 1,500BC to stop robbers, stealing the priceless possessions. We visit the celebrated tomb of Tutankhamen, which was discovered intact in 1922 by Howard Carter. The burial chamber, whose walls depict the “Opening of the Mouth” ceremony, is unique in that it still contains the king’s body inside the gilded coffin.

Day 12 Tuesday June 22, 2010 Suez Canal
Today we transit the famed Suez Canal. Opened in 1869 it is the only link between the Mediterranean and the Red Sea and shaved weeks off voyages from Europe to Asia and Australia. A very enjoyable day!
Day 13 Wednesday June 23, 2010 Port Said, Egypt
Today we travel through the desert to the Nile River on a sightseeing trip to Cairo. We visit Giza and see one of the wonders of the ancient world: the Pyramids, built by the Pharaohs over 4500 years ago. We see the Sphinx, usually dated to 2,500 BC. We will have a guided tour to explain the history of these ancient buildings. We visit the Cairo Museum and see the treasures of the tomb of Tutankhamen, including the amazing gold mask.

Day 15 Friday June 25, 2010 Ephesus
We will travel from the port to the ancient Roman city of Ephesus, one of the most extensive archaeological sites in the world. We will enjoy a tour of Ephesus and walk along the marble streets, where we will see ruts made by chariot wheels hundreds of years ago. We see the imposing two-storey façade of the Library of Celsus, the best-preserved structure of its kind in the world.
Day 16 Saturday June 26, 2010 Istanbul
Today we will have a wonderful sightseeing tour of Istanbul, the capital of the Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman empires for nearly a 1000 years. Covering the hills on both sides of the Bosphorus, it was the halfway point between the cultures of Europe and the Orient. We will visit the Aya Sofya, a masterpiece of Byzantine architecture. At one time it was a cathedral, a mosque and now a magnificent museum. As we enter, we see the 9th century bronze covered doors; you can feel the vibrant atmosphere of the city, alive with movement and bustle. We visit the Blue Mosque, known for its beautiful blue tiles and the Hippodrome, where Roman chariot races were held. This afternoon we have a sightseeing tour to the Topkapi Palace. The original palace was built by Mehmet the Conqueror between 1459 and 1465. It was the home of the Ottoman emperors until 1853. It had its own mosques, schools, libraries, Turkish baths and residences for many people working in these facilities.
Day 17 Sunday June 27, 2010 ANZAC Cove
Today there will be scenic cruising around the Gallipoli peninsula and ANZAC cove. We see the beaches that the ANZACs stormed in 1915.
Day 18 Monday June 28, 2010 Santorini
Perhaps the most spectacular of all the Greek Islands, Santorini is the remains of an ancient volcano that blew apart a larger island around 1650BC. Today, villages of typical Greek whitewashed houses cascade down the cliffs that overlook the deep blue sea. There will be free time today for individual exploration.
Day 19 Tuesday June 29, 2010 Athens, Greece
Today we call into Athens, the capital of Greece. We have a sightseeing tour of this ancient city. We see the famous Acropolis, the symbol of Athens. A guide will take us to the Parthenon, built at the height of its classical heritage in the 5th century BC.

Day 21 Thursday July 1, 2010 Venice
This afternoon we arrive at the city of Venice. Unique in the world, this is one of the most spectacular and romantic cities. We will have a sightseeing tour this afternoon. We visit St Marks Square, see the Grand Canal, St Marks Cathedral and the Doges Palace. We will overnight aboard Dawn Princess while moored in Venice. This will be a wonderful opportunity to explore the city by night. Perhaps stroll down to the famous St Marks Square and past the Doges Palace and “Bridge of Sighs”.

A free day in the city of Venice to explore the squares, bridges and canals.
Day 23 Saturday July 3, 2010 Dubrovnik, Croatia
Today we call into the jewel of the Adriatic, the historic city of Dubrovnik. The city is situated on a promontory surrounded by the beautiful waters of the Adriatic. It is renowned for the beauty of its monuments, its magnificent walls and welcoming atmosphere. It was founded by fugitives from the Roman city of Epidaurum in the 7th century. We have a comprehensive tour of the beautiful city. We see the impressive Fort of St John and the Sponza Palace, which was built in the 14th century as the city’s mint. The afternoon will be free for individual exploration.

Day 25 Monday July 5, 2010 Rome
Today we have a sightseeing tour of the eternal city of Rome. We see the Coliseum, the Vatican and St Peter’s Basilica. We visit the old town and see the Spanish Steps, the Piazza Navona and the Pantheon, one of the few perfectly preserved ancient Roman buildings.
Day 26 Tuesday July 6, 2010 Tuscany
Today we visit the port of Livorno, Tuscany. We travel into the beautiful Tuscan countryside to the wonderful medieval town of Lucca. It is known for its pink-brick ramparts and narrow streets lined with tall facades of old houses. The old town has remained lively and sheltered behind its ramparts, untouched by modern town planning. There will be time for lunch at leisure in the town before returning to the ship via Pisa where we will have a chance to stop for photos of the famous leaning tower.
Day 27 Wednesday July 7, 2010 Cannes, France
This morning we arrive at the French Riviera town of Cannes, known for the famous film festival. We will travel along the French Riviera and visit the elegant city of Nice and the fairytale principality of Monaco. We see the Grand Prix circuit, the cathedral where Princess Grace is buried and the Royal Palace.
Day 28 Thursday July 8, 2010 Barcelona, Spain
Today we have a sightseeing tour of Barcelona, capital of Catalonia and the second largest city in Spain. It contains a medieval Gothic quarter, where we will see the historic cathedral and the medieval streets. The modernist Eixample district is known for the architecture of Antonio Gaudi. We see examples of Gaudi’s work including the famous Sagrada Familia.

Day 30 Saturday July 10, 2010 Gibraltar
We have a morning sightseeing tour of Gibraltar, the British territory located at the entrance of the Mediterranean Sea. We visit the famous Rock, the stronghold that has held against invasions for over 300 years. The afternoon will be free for individual exploration.
Day 31 Sunday July 11, 2010 At sea

Day 32 Monday July 12, 2010 At sea

Day 33 Tuesday July 13, 2010 La Havre, Normandy, France
We have a sightseeing tour of the beautiful French countryside. We travel down the valley of the Seine River to the village of Giverny, where we visit the famous impressionist artist Claude Monet’s beautiful house and garden which inspired some of his greatest paintings. We then travel to the picturesque historic town of Honfeur, where there will be time to explore before we return to the ship.
Day 34 Wednesday July 14, 2010 London
This morning we arrive at Southampton, England. After breakfast we disembark the ship and travel to London. On arrival in London, we have a sightseeing tour before we are transferred to our hotel.
Day 35 Thursday July 15, 2010 Departure
The day will be free. In the early evening the group will be transferred to the airport for the flight back to Australia. B
