Day 1 Thursday 25 March, 2010 Dubai
Today we depart Australia for Dubai.
Day 2 Friday 26 March, 2010 Dubai
We arrive in Dubai early morning and are transferred to our hotel. In the afternoon we have a sightseeing tour of Dubai and see some of the spectacular developments that this growing city is famous for.
Day 3 Saturday 27 March, 2010 Dubai
The morning is free for sightseeing or shopping. In the afternoon we are transferred to the Nad al-Sheba racecourse to attend the exciting and famous Dubai World Cup, the richest horse race in the world. Sit down in our reserved seats and enjoy dinner while you watch the races. Enjoy the best that Dubai racing has to offer – the highlight of the tour.
Day 4 Sunday 28 March, 2010 Dubai
This morning will be free to shop and enjoy the sites of Dubai. In the afternoon we are picked up in 4 wheel-drive vehicles and drive into the desert for an exciting dinner. Enjoy a traditional Arab BBQ under the desert stars!
Day 5 Monday 29 March, 2010
Brilliance of the Seas This morning is free. This afternoon we are transferred to the port to board the Brilliance of the Seas for our 7 night cruise of the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Oman. This evening we have a welcome cocktail party to welcome the group to the ship.
Day 6 Tuesday 30 March, 2010 Dubai
We depart the port of Dubai at 1:00pm Our first day at sea. This afternoon there will be a private fun session of Bingo for the group.
Day 7 Wednesday 31 March, 2010 Muscat
Today we arrive in the city of Muscat, capital of the Sultanate of Oman. On our included sightseeing tour we travel to the city of Nizwa to visit Jabrin Castle, which is probably the finest and most picturesque in Oman. We then visit the Nizwa Fort, the oldest in Oman. It was founded in 1668, but took many years to complete, the enormous tower alone taking 30 years. After visiting the fort, you will visit the Nizwa souk, where you will find locally crafted goods such as silver jewellery, copper and weaving. We then return to the ship late afternoon.
Day 8 Thursday 1 April, 2010 Fujairah
Today we have a sightseeing tour of Fujairah, situated on the shores of the Gulf of Oman, known for its beautiful unspoilt beaches and rugged mountains. We will have a sightseeing tour of this beautiful area. We visit the Fujairah Museum to see the local archaeological artefacts. The museum has a unique collection of Fujairah’s coins used before the UAE was formed in 1971. There will then be a photo stop at the 300-year-old Fujairah fort, which is currently preparing to become the Fujairah National Musuem. We will continue on to Heritage Village, where we will take a look into the past, discovering the lifestyles of the ancient residents including items such as work tools and typical irrigation systems of many years ago. Following this we will arrive at the Fujairah fish, fruit and vegetable market and travel along the coastal road to Al Badiya, the oldest mosque in the UAE. Two Portuguese watch towers overlook both the mosque and the oasis of Al Badiya Village dating back to 1498. We then return to the ship.
Day 9 Friday 2 April, 2010 Abu Dhabi
Today we call in to the city of Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates. It is situated on a small peninsula surrounded by a cluster of islands. It was founded in 1761 and named after a breed of gazelle by a sheikh of the Bani Yas tribe. Our included sightseeing tour offers an ideal introduction to the city. We will see the modern city, known as the Manhattan of Arabia, including the Presidential Palace and other government buildings and the spectacular Corniche. We visit the Heritage Village which features houses and a small museum illustrating the daily activities of the Arab community prior to the discovery of oil.
Day 10 Saturday 3 April, 2010 Mina Sulman, Bahrain
Today we visit the city state of Bahrain. We visit the National Museum, the Portuguese Fort, the Al-Jazra craft center, the A’Ali cemeteries and the King Fahad Causeway, a masterpiece of engineering which since 1986 has linked Bahrain with Saudi Arabia, 25 kilometers across the water.
Day 11 Sunday 4 April, 2010 Dubai
This morning we are at sea and you can enjoy the facilities of the ship. This afternoon we arrive into the Port of Dubai. The afternoon will be free.
Day 12 Monday 5 April, 2010 Dubai
This morning we disembark the ship. We are transferred to the airport for the flight back to Australia.
Day 13 Tuesday 6 April 2010 Arrival in Australia
Arrival back into Australia and the tour concludes. |
