In 2012 Pete Rudder will celebrate 40 years in radio a stretch he wears rather well. It all began in 1972 for Pete in Mt. Isa where he learned the craft, then on to his hometown of Brisbane. Pete began his working life in advertising for one of Australia's leading agencies back in the 60's. As an accomplished singer, he also performed at clubs and pubs through the early seventies until radio called. He's worked all the major capital city markets, Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. Peter was the first breakfast announcer in the country on air when FM Radio commenced in 1980.
The 'Ruddster' has done all the different radio formats from country to talk to pop and for the last 10 years at The Best Songs of All Time 4BH882. "It's certainly the biggest stint I've ever done at one station" says Pete, "I've been to more stations than a petrol tanker." For Pete, radio is his first love but you'll find him every morning in the gym doing his routine of cardio and weights. "If you don't use it, you'll lose it" says Pete. Not that you can say Pete goes without, he has a passion for fine wines. Pete's partner is a chef so together they have some very entertaining dinner parties. Clothing on board Diamond Princess
During the day, casual clothing is typical, although shorts and swimwear are not permitted in the formal restaurants. There will be two or three formal nights for dress purposes. Nights in port are classified as informal. During the evening on formal nights, a dinner suit or dark suit for gentlemen and eveningwear for ladies is required for the main restaurants. Smart casual attire is required in the public lounges and restaurants.
